Welcome to ENTM Fresh Faces Cycle One!

Hello everyone, First off, I would like to announce the Judges for this cycle!

With that said, it is time to announce the ones that will be joining us for ENTM: Fresh Faces! I am super excited about this, and I hope everyone enjoys the ride!

This cycle is made for new models who have never participated in a cycle before. I am so happy we can bring more people into this fun little competition, and I am so glad they have decided to try out. I want to welcome them to the ENTM Family!

With that said, please give the models your love and welcome them to ENTM: Fresh Faces Cycle One!

Welcome to ENTM: Fresh Faces of Eorzea!

Since this is a cycle that is aimed towards new models, I will explain a bit about ENTM and how it works! ENTM was started back in 2014 by Rongi Pongi, and started on the FFXIV Official Forums. We have since spread to Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and have an active Discord group. Everyone here loves this game, and loves glamours and /gpose. If you do as well, you’ll be among good company!

I run this as a non-elimination style cycle, which means models will have to commit to 6 weeks of themed photoshoots. Of course, if you get them done early you are more than welcome to turn them in early as well. I also need the models to join the discord group since this is where the critiques are posted, and where I keep in contact with the models.

The basis of ENTM is (and always will be) to provide a friendly, supportive and fun competition while giving constructive critiques to improve the model’s overall /gpose skills. Mostly, we just want this to be a fun little competition where you can show off your amazing skills, make new friends, learn some new techniques, and possibly be crowned the new S-Rank cycle champion!

Who can try out?
– If you have never been in an ENTM cycle before, you’re able to try out!
– If you tried out but never made it into any cycle, you’re able to try out!

And just to cover a question that might pop up: If a player has been in a cycle before, this also covers all their alt’s as well, and cannot try out on a different character.

Basic Rules:
Players trying out cannot use cropping, photoshop (plus any programs like it) or any 3rd party program that betters their graphics or changes the way their character looks in the game (adds muscles, changes the way gear looks, etc). This is so, regardless of the player being on a PC or PS4, everyone is on an equal playing field.
Players cannot fantasia, their character must remain as it is in the tryout photos. But, this does not include anything that can be done using the Aesthetician! We encourage the models to change their looks for every shot using our friendly Elezen fashionista!

How can you try out?
First, join our Discord! (don’t forget to go to the roles channel!)
Then, do the following 3 shots!
– Portrait Shot (shoulders up)
– Your Favorite Glamour (full body)
– Your Favorite Place To Hang
Once done, DM Admin Kai (me!) with your Name, Server and the three shots listed!

ALL SHOTS ARE DUE BY JANUARY THE 16TH (This Coming Thursday), BY MIDNIGHT (EST)!!!

The Judges will look them over to decide, and I am hoping for a total of 8-10 models for this cycle! If you have any more questions, feel free to @ me in the Discord group, or DM me!

Welcome to 2020 with a New Cycle!

It’s a New Year and a New ENTM cycle! One that has not been done since the original cycle way back in the summer of 2014!

I see all of our future talent and all of the players who follow us on Twitter and Tumblr. I wanted to do a cycle for you, so:

Have you been looking for a reason to get more involved with our Discord? Have you wanted to try out, but were a bit nervous or shy going up against others who had done it before? Have you ever hoped there would be a cycle for all-new models, showing off their skills for the first time? Or, maybe you’re just ready to toss your hat in the ring!

We would love to get new models involved in our cycles, and our community. So we are looking to our community who has stuck with us. Who has voted for other models and followed the cycles, but haven’t tried out! This fun, new cycle was thought up with you in mind and we hope you will join us! Look for more information in the coming weeks!

For those models who have been in a cycle before, fear not! I’m sure you are chomping at the bit to show off how fabulous you are! Kat wants to remind you, this spring ENTM: Classic will be hopping in for your enjoyment!

ENTM Runway Cycle: Meet the Models

If you’ve participated in previous cycles with ENTM you should already have a general idea of how this all works. ENTM draws inspiration from reality competition shows, and challenges virtual photographers to come up with the best representation of a given theme for the week. At the end of the cycle whomever has the best cumulative score is crowned the winner. Competition is heavily based on photographic methods, as well as storytelling. Through ENTM many have learned new techniques, and been able to tap into a new side of creativity and appreciation for Final Fantasy XIV.

Runway Cycle takes a slightly different approach. It is a marriage between our typical inspirations and ruleset and the weekly Fashion Report challenge at the Gold Saucer. Each week our models will be presented with a theme, and a few key rules that vary week to week, such as using a particular colour of dye, a particular piece of equipment visible, and so on and so forth. Photographic techniques are helpful, however are not necessary. This is all about selling the garment. So long as you can capture your own pose well, and show the outfit clearly, then you’re all set to set fire to the runway.

That being said, this whole competition is nothing without you, the models! Thank you for auditioning, and taking the time to participate in a fun game where the true reward is the journey and friends we make along the way (and also the only reward; there is no actual prize, sorry, we’re on a budget). I hope you all have fun, and enjoy the experience.

ENTM Runway Cycle: Meet Your Host & Judges

Your Host, Ni’ko Shae

Tumblr Cycle 11 winner and regular supporter of all things ENTM your host Ni’ko Shae puts the purr in purple. Rumour suggests a time when he had no association with the colours purple, pink, or anything in between, but such ridiculous allegations are clearly without merit. Runway Cycle is his brainchild created with /gpose beginners in mind.

Judge Kai Ulric

No stranger to the spotlight Kai is a long time model, host, site admin, and creator of the non-elimination ruleset. Always ready to cheer and judge, this lovely gal is also an avid housing collector. Rumour has it she has twenty houses across all data centers.

Judge Malkovich Malkovich

A double threat, this two-time S-rank model ready to judge your glam game has a great eye for drama. He’s also the warrior in Hidden Gorge ready to Holmgang you onto the train tracks. Glad he’s on our side!

Judge Odharnait “Ona” Greene

An avid promoter and supporter of ENTM, Ona is our Tumblr Cycle 10 Community Vote winner, frequent judge, frequent winner of our Monthly Challenge, and goddess of mythology. We welcome her grace and wit.

Judge Rymmrael “Rymm” Bhaldraelwyn

Tumblr Cycle 10’s lovely first alternate Rymm is a longtime supporter of ENTM, and a writer for Aetherflow Media. A true virtual fashionista, Rymm freely admits to spending more time on her in-game wardrobe than her real life wardrobe as she has made it her life mission to prove Roegadyns are just as pretty and fashionable as any other race (all hail the master race).

Double’s Edition Cycle 1: Model Announcement

ENTM Double’s Cycle Tryouts

Good afternoon everyone! It’s time for ENTM: Double’s Edition Cycle One!

Before I get into the try out’s – I do need some judges! So, if you’re interested please join Ni’ko on the panel for the first Double’s Edition ever!

Now, that said –

This is a Classic Edition, meaning no mods of any kind. If it’s not naturally part of the game, then it’s not allowed.

No body mods, gear mods, reshade, cropping or using photoshop to alter the image!

For Doubles Edition you need to have a partner, obviously lol! You will both be in every image (must be 1 image, not a single image for both characters) and you need to balance one another without outshining each other! So grab a friend or significant other and get ready to show how truly in sync you can be! Remember, this is a six-week commitment.

To try out for the cycle send (DM Admin Kai on Discord) me three images along with the following information:

-Full Names of both characters

Scenic Cycle Winner Announcement

Once again I would like to thank all our photographers for being part of our experiment. Taking screenshots for six weeks straight is tough. Fighting for weather, getting told by me to redo the shot because of some technical issue, or just feeling uninspired – it all adds up. I tend to prefer shorter cycles because by week 6 I’m feeling personally burned out in any given contest. So whew! We made it!

One thing we wanted to see is if anonymous judging would be a viable way of determining a photographer’s skill without any risk of bias. (I trust our judges in ENTM to not have any overt bias, but they’re only human after all.)

The other thing, and I’ve seen this happen in several rounds of Classic Cycle, is that doing constantly well every week – even the weeks that you don’t win – is the key to having a triumphant finish in a non-elimination cycle

With exact one three way tie win under her belt, and a whole lot of close second place finishes in the earlier rounds, the winner of Scenic Cycle 1 is Sudedki “Suds” Nankali with a final score of 57. Congratulations! In second place, with a final score of 76, is Malkovich Malkovich! In third place, with a final score of 80, is Darius Stormcrow!

As a final treat, here is Suds’ complete portfolio from this cycle. She will be immortalized as ENTM’s first ever S-Rank Photographer.
